CHICAGO — Jacobson Executive Search has placed Arnold Spier as chief financial officer for International Fidelity Insurance Company of Newark, N.J. This announcement marks the successful completion of the nationwide search conducted by the Chicago-based executive search firm serving the insurance, healthcare and financial services industries on behalf of the leading middle market surety company.
Spier will report to Robert Minster, executive vice president and chief operating officer, and will manage the day-to-day operations of the finance department.

Prior to his new role at International Fidelity, Spier held several financial positions with property and casualty insurance companies. Most recently, he served as international controller of centrally-managed business for Zurich Financial Services in New York City. His background also includes a substantial tenure with American International Group (AIG), where he held posts including director of financial planning and analysis, director of corporate receivables, and assistant vice president and comptroller. Spier earned his master’s of business administration with a concentration in finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Madison, N.J., and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lehman College, West Bronx, N.Y.
