CHICAGO — Jacobson Executive Search has placed Frank Lucia as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Dean Health Plan in Madison, Wis. This announcement brings an end to the nationwide search undertaken by the Chicago-based national executive search firm serving the insurance, healthcare and financial services industries on behalf of the insurance subsidiary of Dean Health Systems and SSM Healthcare.
Reporting directly to Lon Sprecher, Dean Health Plan’s President and Chief Operating Officer, Lucia will direct all financial operations for the company. He will develop and execute key financial strategies, oversee financial close and consolidation of financial reports, and maintain responsibility for financial modeling. As a member of the senior leadership team, he will offer the analysis and perspectives necessary for corporate decisions and strategic planning.
“Frank has an extensive track record of success,” said Jay D’Aprile, the executive search consultant who headed up the assignment for Jacobson. “He will bring best practices from his past experiences to help grow Dean Health Plan.”
Lucia brings more than 15 years of financial experience in the health insurance sector to his role at Dean Health Plan. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Corporate Development for CIGNA in Philadelphia. Lucia graduated magna cum laude from State University of New York at Binghamton with a degree in accounting. He holds his master’s of business administration from the University of Miami in Florida.
