Jacobson Provides Insider Perspective on Millennial Talent in the Financial Industry

April 26, 2016
CHICAGO- In today's battle for top financial talent, it's up to employers to foster their Millennial talent or risk losing them to the competition. Kylee Lacson, assistant vice president for The Jacobson Group’s life and disability subject matter experts team, will share insider strategies on what companies can do to attract, develop and retain top talent from the Millennial generation at the 2016 Life Office Management Association (LOMA) Financial Inforum in Tampa, Fla. The presentation, “Maximizing the Potential of the Millennials,” is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17.

“This diverse, motivated and optimistic generation is ready to step up to the plate and redefine the future of industry leadership,” said Lacson. “Unfortunately, most organizations have not yet adapted their current workforce culture to embrace and encourage this new generation of leaders.”

Lacson will be joined by co-presenters Darrin S. Steinhagen, director of business finance at CUNA Mutual Group, and Amy Lynch, generational expert. The presentation will feature a discussion on the importance of supporting and retaining young professionals in leadership roles. Lacson, a Millennial herself, will offer her unique perspective on the best practices and strategies for developing the next generation of leaders, including updated leadership development programs, revised mentorship opportunities, and innovative recruitment and engagement tactics. In addition, this unique session will highlight one financial company’s current efforts to address the needs of Millennials. Steinhagen will share CUNA’s recent Generational Agility Panel (GAP) initiative, focused on proactively engaging the next generation of leaders.

As assistant vice president for Jacobson’s life and disability subject matter experts team, Lacson provides organizations access to professionals with functional expertise and consultant-level talent for special projects and short-term needs in accounting, actuarial, claims, compliance, marketing, risk management, technology and underwriting. Active in the insurance industry, Lacson has earned her Associate, Life Management Institute and LOMA’s Associate, Customer Service designations and is currently pursuing her Fellow, Life Management Institute designation. Lacson was also a member of the inaugural Certificate in Retirement Essentials class in December 2014 and plans to complete the Fellow, Secure Retirement Institute program when LOMA finalizes the remaining courses. She is also active in several additional industry organizations, such as the Association of Home Office Underwriters and the Society of Actuaries.
