Jacobson Highlights Opportunities for Young Professionals in Insurance

CHICAGO – The insurance industry offers a multitude of opportunities for recent graduates, yet many young professionals are still unaware of these career paths. At the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA) National Conference and Empowerment Summit in Atlanta, Brett Carter, engagement director for The Jacobson Group, will elucidate the variety of organizations and roles available in the insurance and risk management industry.

Carter will join several other industry professionals, including moderator Jillian Winston, head of inclusive recruitment for Aon Services Corporation, for “Understand Your Career Options: Solidify Your Future.” The roundtable workshop will provide an opportunity for students to discuss different insurance organizations and career paths, as well as how to stand out as a candidate. It’s scheduled for Friday, Sept. 13, at 8:00 a.m. EDT.

“There is a wealth of opportunity for new college graduates in insurance, from traditional functions like actuarial, claims and underwriting to roles that don’t yet exist,” said Carter. “It’s our responsibility as an industry to ensure this next generation is aware of the abundance of positions catering to all interests and skill sets.”

As an engagement director of Jacobson’s executive search practice, Carter manages C-level, vice president and other executive-level searches for clients from all sectors of the insurance industry. He brings more than 20 years of insurance experience to his role, including positions with Founders Insurance Company, Travelers and State Farm. Mostly recently, he served as diversity partner for Munich Re US P&C. Carter’s deep industry knowledge, passion for innovation and organizational excellence, and strong communication skills translate into expert executive search and selection consulting for his insurance clients. He is currently a NAAIA Board Member.
