Jacobson's Brett Carter Named President of NAAIA Chicago

CHICAGO – The Jacobson Group is pleased to share Managing Director Brett Carter has been named president of the Chicago chapter of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA), an organization dedicated to facilitating growth, development, empowerment and career enhancement among African American insurance professionals. Carter previously served as the chapter’s vice president.

“It’s been a privilege to contribute to such an outstanding organization and an honor to now serve as its president,” said Carter. “NAAIA Chicago has a deep history in the city and as we celebrate 20 years of service to the community this year, I am ready to work with our Board to continue expanding our reach and impact.”

As a managing director for Jacobson’s executive search team, Carter manages C-level, vice president and other executive-level searches for clients from all sectors of the insurance industry. Prior to Jacobson, he most recently served as diversity partner for Munich Re US P&C.

Passionate about attracting diverse talent to insurance and fostering a supportive and inclusive industry, Carter is also a member of the Rising Insurance Star Executive D&I Committee and a member of the Wholesale and Specialty Insurance Association Career Development Committee, which aims to create interest, awareness and enthusiasm about careers in the industry. He serves on the board of Ascentra Credit Union and previously served as president of the Illinois 1752 Club.

Carter received his bachelor’s degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Forbes School of Business & Technology at the University of Arizona Global Campus, as well as the Six Sigma designation. He earned the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the University of South Florida Muma College of Business.
